Temples Of Haryana

The small state of Haryana, spread over an area of over 44,000 square kilometers, was founded in 1966 when the former state of Punjab was divided into Haryana and the modern Punjab. It is both the oldest and most modern of places. Most of tourists who come to India pass through Haryana, the state that surrounds Delhi on three sides, the capital of the country, and whose highways lead to Agra, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh.

Famous Temples in Haryana :

Sthaneshwar Mahadev Temple In Kurukshetra :
Sthaneshwar Mahadev Temple at Thaneswar in Kurukshetra is another holy center. Kurukshetra is a small sacred town for the Hindus. It is small and distinct. With an air of an ancient presence, lies the Sthaneshvara Mahadev Temple at Thanesar.

Panchkula Mansa Devi Temple :
Chandigarh Mansa Devi temple is a very famous shrine located at Panchkula, which is about 8 kms away from the city. This holy Siddh Peeth is dedicated to Mata Mansa Devi. According to the Hindu mythology, the head of Devi Sati had fallen over here.

Birla Mandir in Chandigarh :
The Laxmi Narayan Mandir (temple) built by B.D. Birla is a modern Hindu temple dedicated to Laxmi (goddess of wealth) and Narayana (the preserver). This is one of the landmarks in the nation's capital New Delhi. It was built in the 20th century by the Birla family of industrialists known for its many other temples in India.

Sheetala Devi Temple In Gurgaon :
Sheetla Devi Temple is situated at Gurgaon village, a suburb of Gurgaon, in the state of Haryana. The temple, standing near a pond, is dedicated to Mata Sheetla Devi. Sheetala Mata Mandir, situated near Delhi, is at times referred to as a "Shakti Peeth" and is considered as one of the most sacred Hindu pilgrimages in India.

Sita Mai Temple In Karnal :
Sita Mai Temple is an ancient structure situated in the village Sitamai, about 19 km from Nilokher in Karnal District. The temple is dedicated to goddess Sita. The whole shrine is built of bricks. It is believed that this is the spot where the earth parted and accepted Sita.

Dargah Of Bu Ali Shah Qalandar In Panipat :
Dargah of Bu-Ali-Shah-Qalandar is a famous mausoleum located at Panipat in Haryana. Built in the 13th century, it is dedicated to Baba Bu-Ali-Shah-Qalandar, one among the great Sufi saints and scholars of Panipat.

Lat-Ki Masjid In Hissar :
Feroze Shah’s palace and fort Feroze Shah Tughlaq built a palace.It is a grand structure complete with a basement and a mosque. He built a mosuqe called Lat ki masjid.

Pathar Masjid In Kurukshetra :
The Pathar Masjid noted for its fluted minarets attached to its back wall is built of red sandstone. The ceiling of the mosque resting on pillars is decorated with floral designs carved in low relief. The mosque is assignable to seventeenth century AD.
