Raghunath Temple in Jammu :
The Raghunath Temple is situated in the heart of the city and surrounded by
a group of other temples, this temple dedicated to Lord Rama is outstanding
and unique in Northern India. Work on the temple was started by Maharaja Gulab
Singh, founder of the Kingdom of Jammu and Kashmir in 1835 AD and was completed
by his son Maharaja Ranbir Singh in 1860 AD.
Maa Vaishno Devi Temple In Jammu :
Mata Vaishno Devi Temple is one of the most visited pilgrimage centers in
India. It perched on the Trikuta Mountain at a height of 5, 300 ft. The shrine
of Mata Vaishno Devi nestles in a cave of Himalayan Mountains in the state
of Jammu and Kashmir. This cave temple is at a distance of 61 kms from Jammu.
Shankracharya Temple in Jammu :
Shankaracharya Temple is located on the Height, which is few km from the city
and on the way to "Chasme Shahi" Garden. You have
to climb atleast 243 Steps to go to Temple. Take out your Shoes and then atleast
45 more steps to Temple. You can have a Darshan of "Lord Shiva Shiv Ling".
After you finish the Darshan you can have a look around and You can see the
Whole Srinagar City from this place.
Sudh Mahadev Tample In Patnitop :
The Sudh Mahadev Temple is situated in the town of Chanhani in the western
part of the Jammu, the Sacred Temple of Sudhmahadev was constructed by Chaudhari
Ramdas of Chanhani and his son Chaudhari Parag Mahajan about 80 years ago.
Shri Masu Shahane of Sudhmahadev is said to have constructed the entrance
door of the temple of Sudhmahadev.
Bahu Fort & Temple in Jammu :
Bahu Fort/ Temple is 5 kms from Jammu city situated on a rock face on the
left bank of the river Tawi, this is perhaps the oldest fort and edifice in
the city. Constructed originally by Raja Bahulochan over 3,000 years ago,
the existing Fort was more recently improved and built by Dogra rulers. There
is a temple dedicated to Goddess Kali inside the fort popularly known as Bave
wali Mata.
Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Gurdwara in Jammu :
Gurdwara Shri Guru Nanak Devji is an important religious site of the Jammu
and Kashmir pilgrim tourism. The sacred sanctorum of Gurdwara Guru Nanak Devji
houses a marvelous huge statue of Guru Nanak. Constructed out of pure white
marble, the idol of Shri Guru Nanak is three feet high. The mighty Maharaja
Partap Singh had erected the beautiful statue to pay obesiance to the great
religious leader of the Sikhs, Shri Guru Nanak.
Nangli Sahib Gurdwara In Jammu :
Gurudwara Nangali Sahib is situated in the lap of a picturesque hill and on
the bank of Drungali Nallah. It is about 4 kms from Poonch town in Poonch
district, which is the smallest of the 14 districts of Jammu & Kashmir
State. It is one of the oldest shrine of the Sikhs in Northern India. Presently
the Gurudwara complex consists of the main Gurdwara building, a Langar Hall
and about 70 living rooms. Large number of devotees belonging to all faiths
visit this shrine from all over the country every year.
Ranbireshwar Temple In Jammu :
Ranbireshwar Temple is located on the Shalimar Road near the New Secretariat,
and built by Maharaja Ranbir Singh in1883 AD, Ranbireshwar Temple is dedicated
to Lord Shiva. It has one central 'Lingam' measuring seven and a half feet
height (7.5 ft.) and twelve Shiva 'Lingams' of crystal measuring from 15 cms.
To 38 cms. and galleries with thousands of Shiva 'Lingams' fixed on stone
slabs.
