Jakhu Temple In Shimla :

Jwalamukhi Temple In Dharamshala :
Jwalamukhi Temple is situated 30 km south of Kangra valley. Dedicated to Goddess
Jwalamukhi, there is a copper pipe in this temple through which natural gas
comes out and the priest of the temple lights this. This flame is worshiped
as a manifestation of the goddess Jwalamukhi.
Chintpurni Temple Of Una :
Chintpurni in the Una District of Himachal Pradesh is famous for Mata Chintpurni
Devi Temple. The Chintpurni Temple besides having the idols of Mata Shri Chhinnamastika
Devi and Mata Shri Chintpurni Devi also has the idol of Chhina Mastaka, the
killer of the demon Nishumbha. This temple is revered by the Hindus in Punjab,
Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and it is believed that the Goddess Chintpurni
is the remover of all troubles.
Naina Devi Temple In Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh :
The most notable place of worship in the district is the temple of Shri Naina
Devi. It is one of the 51 'Shakti Pithas'. According to a belief Shiva's consort
Sati once burnt alive in 'yagna' to avenge an insult. The distraught Shiva
picked her corpse and gyrated his horrific dance. Then Vishnu the preserver
unleashed his discus and cut the body in to 51 pieces to save the earth from
Shiva's wrath. Naina Devi is where Sati's eye are where believed to fell situated
on the hill top of that name connected which rises some 3,995m above the sacred
town of Anandpur Sahib in Rupar district of Punjab.
Hadimba Devi Temple In Manali :
Hadimba Devi Temple is dedicated to goddess Hadimba, the temple was built
by Maharaja Bahadur Singh in 1550 AD. A much revered deity of the locals,
the Goddess is regularly consulted in times of natural hardship or calamity.
Animal sacrifices are still made here in her honor. This four story wooden
temple is located in the middle of a forest called the Dhungiri Van Vihar.
Balasundari Temple In Nahan :
The Balasundari Temple built by Raja Dip Prakash in 1573. It is situated at
a distance of 17 kms from Nahan and 6 kms from Kala-Amb, the gateway to Nahan
from Haryana. Trilokpur is a place of great religious importance. The temple
of the goddess Mahamaya Bala Sundri is very famous and attracts lakhs of pilgrims
from all over Northern India, especially from Haryana and Himachal .
Bhutanath Temple Of Mandi :
The Bhutnath temple, located in the heart of the town was buit by Raja Ajber
Sen in 1527 AD. The temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and was built at the time
when State Capital was shifted from Bhiuli to present place.There is tradition
of Raj Madhav Rao, the deity who ruled the Mandi state, visiting the temple
and offer prayers before starting the procession of Shivratri Fair alongwith
all the visiting hill deities.
Lakshmi Narayan Temple In Chamba :
Regarded as the oldest as well as the largest one in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh,
the Laxmi Narayan Temple attracts a whole lot of visitors. The six temples
in the Laxmi Narayan Temple complex are arranged from north to south and are
dedicated to either Shiva or Vishnu.
Baijnath Temple In Kangra :
One of the most remarkable monuments of the Kangra valley is the temple of
Baijnath. Baijnath is situated East of Dharamsala on the main road that leads
from the Dharamsala to Mandi. Baijnath is in reality the appellation of the
chief temple dedicated to Siva Vaidyanatha (“Lord of Physicians”)
by which the town itself has become known. The original name of the town was
Kiragrama.

Poanta Sahib In Sirmour Himachal Pradesh :
Surrounded by a sal forest and on the banks of river Yamuna, the historic
town of Paonta Sahib (398 m) was founded by the tenth Sikh guru Guru Gobind
Singh. When only 16 years old, the Guru left Anandpur Sahib and on the invitation
of Raja Maidini Prakash of Sirmour, lived at this beautiful spot for over
four years.
The Christ Church In Kasauli :
The most prominent building on the Mall is the yellow Christ Church, reputed
to be the second oldest church in northern India. The silhoutte of this can
be seen on the skyline for miles around. It was designed by Colonel JT Boileau
in 1844, but consecrated only after 1857. The clock was donated by Colonel
Dumbleton in 1860, and the porch added in 1873.
St. Francis Church in Dalhousie :
This Catholic Church is a very prominent monument on the Subhash Chowk. This
Church was built in the year 1894 from the contributions made by Army and
Civil Officers and Civilians. This Church is managed and maintained by the
Cathoilic Diocese of Jalandhar. St. Francis' Church on Prtrain hill is believed
to have been built on the lines of a certain church in England.
St. John`s Church In Wilderness In Dharamshala :
Dharmshala between Forsythganj and Mcleodganj lies the charming St.Joh'n Church
built with dressed astone and having beautiful stained glass windows,popularly
called the church of St.John in Wilderness.Under the shade of deodar branches,
a memorial has been erected over the body of the then British Viceroy of India,
lord Elgin who died in Dharmshala in 1863.
