Cuttak

General Information
Cuttack, the former capital, commercial capital and one of the oldest cities of Orissa is the administrative headquarters of the district. The town is situated 30 Km from Bhubanewarat the apex of the delta formed by the rivers Mahanadi in the North and Kathajodi in the South. It serves as a convenient base for touring the various places of interest in the district.
Cuttack, has a lot to offer to its tourists as well. Cuttack was founded by Nripati Keshari in 10th century. It then went into hands of Mughals, Afghans and Marathas before coming under the rule of British Empire, who made it the capital of Orrisa. It was in 1956, when the capital got shifted to Bhubaneswar.
