General Information
Manali, known for its picturesque surroundings, is a magnificent spot
with high mountains towering above it. Manali can be made the headquarters of
a mountain holiday, with hikes, climbs & picnics punctuated with sun bathing
and fishing etc. This hill town is popularly known as the "Queen of Hills
", is a beautiful spot in the midst of Pine trees, with high mountains
towering above it. Manali was the preferred resting-place of Pandit Jawahar
lal Nehru, where he chose to relax. He came in 1958 and stayed a month and then
again in 1960. Afterwards, his daughter, Indira Gandhi, followed her father
and chose the same spot for a short holiday
